WE WISH TO INFORM YOU THAT THE FORUM IS BEING DISCONTINUED.

We are officially making Discord our primary communication platform due to ease of access, multi-functionality options and monetary benefit (in other words, it's free). The registrations are now locked, but existing users will still be able to open threads and post. If you haven't joined yet, we ask you to do it, as you will be able to stay in the loop and in touch with the outfit members. Use the link below.

Another announcement: we are officially making the WiB primary Teamspeak for Planetside. UFOs teamspeak will still remain active, but will be used for other communities (BF, Overwatch, whatever) and as backup. To join either, use the addresses below:

Official UFOs Code of Conduct

Unread postby Administration » Tue 27. Dec 2016 15:02:57

UFOs CODEX

Unidentified Fighting Objects (UFOs) is a English-speaking gaming community centered around Planetside 2. Primary faction of the outfit is Terran Republic (TR) on the server Miller, with focus on Combined Arms Tactical Gameplay. The community is run by the Administration whose current lineup is as follows:
- Leaders: f4ll0ut, Seerious, randomFaze.
- Officers: Jemijen5let, Magre, MrBasher, ZinorraOnMiller.

Our vision is to become a formidable, respected and efficient gaming community, able and capable of fighting against heavy odds, anywhere, anytime. The main mission of Unidentified Fighting Objects (UFOs) is to build a friendly and relaxed community, based on positive values of trust, unity, cooperation and willingness to learn; creating a formidable, frightening and mercilessly effective player base, while staying level headed, respectful and open towards all parts of the community and passionate about the glorious game that is Planetside 2, for years to come.
In Administration we believe that we can achieve that by functioning on the basis of four main fundamental principles:
- Activity: consistently providing different activities on a regular basis (be it OPs, internal/OvO scrimmages, or other, bigger competitive events like Serversmashes).
- Cooperation: having good relations with other parts of the Planetside community while consciously staying away from drama/conflict in-game, on Reddit, and all other channels.
- Improvement: actively striving for betterment of our battlefield prowess, in other words constantly improving ourselves and our gameplay.
- Recruitment: steadily rejuvenating UFOs player pool with fresh predators (so when people come back after pauses, they will still find an active community).

This Code of Conduct applies to all UFOs branches, be it our TR, NC or VS outfit, and to organizational structures in other games (for example Rainbow 6, Overwatch, Battlefield 1…). Its purpose is to protect the integrity, credibility and reputation of the outfit. Not respecting the Code of Conduct could result in a rank demotion, or removal from the outfit.

LEX UFOs

1. Do not be a douchebag.
2. Remember, that we always represent the values of the UFOs Gaming Community with our conduct, actions and yells.
3. Do not cheat, hack, or exploit in any way. This includes stat padding.
4. Be respectful towards your outfit mates as well as other players, no matter the faction or the outfit they are in.
5. When using community platforms (especially Reddit and official PS2 forums), you only speak for yourself. Do not attempt to tangle UFOs as an outfit into unnecessary conflict.
6. Use appropriate language. Limit swearing as much as possible, do not insult people based on their race, gender, sexual orientation or political orientation.
7. Administration always welcomes collaboration with other parts of the community, just come and talk. That said, poaching (attempts at recruiting) players for another community and/or promotion of other communities and outfits are forbidden.
8. While playing games, we welcome you to be on Teamspeak. In the case you won’t play the game for extended period of time please let Administration know before you go missing in action.

OUTFIT POLICY DETAILS (extended edition)

Do not cheat, hack, or exploit in any way. This includes stat padding.
Hackers and cheaters will get dealt with swiftly. Punishment is immediate removal from the outfit, no matter the status of the player, or his longevity inside the outfit. There will be no compromises when it comes to extreme illegal practices in our community. Statpadding, while categorized as a lighter form of illegal behavior, is extremely damaging to the reputation of the outfit as well, therefore you will only get one warning before harsher sanctions are introduced.

Be respectful towards your outfit mates as well as other players, no matter the faction or the outfit they are in. Always remember, that your conduct represents us all as an outfit.
We all need to blow steam sometimes, but any over the top abuse of other players/outfits/factions will not be tolerated. We condemn any type of toxic behavior towards other players. This includes persistent teamkilling, griefing, harassment inside the game (and especially outside the game) and other forms of negative behavior. We will also not tolerate writing hateful, disrespectful or insulting comments on ingame chats (/yell, /region etc.) and any other interaction platforms (Reddit, Discord etc.), about specific players or outfits. Instigating hate between us and other factions results in bad outfit reputation, therefore it will not be tolerated.
If conflict arises inside the outfit or you find yourself in a massive dispute with other players/outfits, please involve the Administration and we will help you solve the problem.

To be a part of UFOs gaming community, you must be at least 18 years old, although exceptions can be (and have been) made in the past, as long as you prove your maturity.
We expect our members to act maturely, and while we realize that age itself isn’t a proper determining factor for behavior that we consider adult (reasonable, responsible and respectful), we prefer to recruit people, who are at least 18 years old. If you are younger than that, it certainly helps to have someone in the outfit vouch for you. There is also a matter of high probability of foul language and profanity in our TeamSpeak, so we take no responsibility or liability for anyone taking offense while being present in our TeamSpeak or on our Website.

Be sociable.
When we are doing events, your presence on TS is mandatory (ts.ufo-gaming.com). Obviously no one is in mood for socializing all the time, and for times like those we introduced channels in TS where you can just do your thing in peace and quiet, with no questions asked (Quiet Play).

TeamSpeak behavior and Streaming.
When playing games, be present in outfit’s designated TeamSpeak server. Use push to talk on Teamspeak. It is a pain in the ass, but imagine the clusterfuck of noises (swears and heavy breathing) if everybody would be on voice activation. Please do not record/stream audio/video without announcing it, so everyone involved is notified. Also, add a “-streaming/recording” tag next to your nickname in TS.

To be a part of UFOs, you should have reasonable statistics and activity level.
The general rule of thumb is that in UFOs we expect people to already know the basics of FPS gameplay and the game itself. Our outfit is not a place for completely inexperienced, new players. There are many other outfits who do the introductory job to Planetside 2 well enough. That said, we organize trainings that concern skills like teamwork, aim, positioning and map awareness frequently; to consolidate our Gameplay and help players improve in areas in which they are lacking. That said, we also make exceptions for people in which we detect potential for improvement, and people who have characters with appropriate Battle Ranks on other factions/servers.

You must be an active member of our community.
Every few months we analyze the Outfit roster and remove inactive players - usually those who haven't managed to log in at least once in 3 months. If you fit into that category, you will get the in-game rank missing in action (named “MIA”), which means you have 2 more months to let us know about your status. After that period of time you will be removed from the outfit.
If you plan on being inactive for a longer time, let us know (talk to one of the Officers/Leaders, or write in this thread: http://ufo-gaming.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=11). We understand that real life always comes first, but we are certain that you can get at least one opportunity in 3 months, where you can let someone from the outfit know that you'll be away for a time, through one of our many communication methods (forums, WhatsApp, Steam). If you get kicked because of inactivity and wish to return at a later time, you can always reapply, and your application will get preferential treatment.
Our camo is the Jacks Color Camo (designed by Notser), available only at Halloween, which we wear on our official events, especially OPs on Tuesdays and Sundays. It is by no means a necessity, but if you don’t know what to spend DBC on, you should think about getting it, as it represents our community.
